Movie Review Blog

The movie mean girls is a great film that shows the harshness of highschool. Katy Heron(Lindsey Lohan) is a girl that finds herself in a "jungle" like atmosphere where she has to go above and beyond to come out at the top of the social ladder. This movie proves the point that superficial people eventhough they should not be are sometimes treated better than normal people and other people strive to be them.

Throughout the reading I learned a lot about thesis statements and how to write them. The thesis is the statement that your paper is about.It shows your opinion of the topic and the side that you are arguing. A thesis is often in the introduction but does not have to be. For example, I learned that you can put the thesis in the end of the essay. While writing the thesis you should make sure that is a complete sentance.

Reading 10/14/2010

Throughout the reading about the editing I have realized that writing an essay takes a lot more revision than I once thought. For example reading what the people have to say about finding the focus, the true heart of the essay made me think about the next time I write the paper. I also did not really think about how much it does truely help to have someone revise and peer edit your paper for you. In Conclusion, revisions in a paper are definitly the most important parts of the paper and it truely will help you in the long run if your follow these simple steps!

In the reading, "A Twisted World" by James McMorrowJr it shows a part of life that we often take for granted. I believe that reading about how celebrities would control the United States of America would show a point in American history where no person would ever want to go. Even though many people criticize our political leaders now Mcmorrow states, " Looking at what the nation would look like if celebrities ran it, it should be clear that the people we have put in office are the ones best suited there. " I also feel this way because the people have gone to school and educated themselves in government have many long years of studying and learning the information. If we decided to put somebody in that position solely on the fact that they are a name we hear multiple times a day our country would be very different.

While looking at the former students projects I realized that the boys powerpoint about marching band is the most similiar to what I would like to do also. The way he transitioned between slides was really good. Also I saw how the music chosen can make or break the project.

Essay Number One

My idea for this project is to talk about my junior year of high school and how I tore my acl and missed my entire field hockey season.I am then going to talk about my freshman year at college and how I worked hard my junior and senior year to get back and am now on the Bridgewater State University field hockey team. http://www.bsubears.com/sports/fh/index. I hope to make a powerpoint to desribe the struggle and hard work i put into this sport i love!
